Punjab: The Bhagwant Mann government of Punjab has launched a historic initiative in the field of education, directly connected to the future of every family. This door-to-door survey, which began on November 18, 2025, is not merely a formality but a guarantee of a secure future for you and your children.

What is Mann govt’s initiative for right to education?

The Mann government’s goal is to ensure that no child in the state is deprived of the right to education. The Punjab government has begun implementing its commitment to bring the right to education to every child in the state. This is happening for the first time—education department teams are not limited to offices or schools but are reaching directly to your doorstep.

Whether migrant laborers, daily wage workers, or those living in slums—your child will no longer remain invisible. The Mann government has proven that the poor and backward classes come first for them. This is a pledge to end the ‘VIP culture’ and provide education with dignity to every common citizen’s child.

What are Punjab govt's special training and free admission initiative?

Special attention is being given to highly vulnerable groups in this survey. Children working on streets, laboring at dhabas, or picking through garbage—all these children will now be brought into the mainstream. By identifying them, the government will ensure special training and free admission to schools.

This step will directly touch the hearts of millions of parents who want to give their children a better life but cannot send them to school due to helplessness. A government that understands the suffering of the poor is shaping the future of every child.

What are the plan related to Annual Education Plan 2026-27?

Based on accurate data from the survey, the Annual Education Plan 2026-27 will be prepared. This directly means that wherever there is a greater need for children, new ‘Schools of Eminence’ will open, smart classrooms will be built, and teachers will be recruited. The government is not just making promises but working systematically at the ground level. This is data-driven development that will make your neighborhood and city schools world-class.

Heads/In-charges of government schools have been given the responsibility to ensure a survey of every household within their 3 to 5-kilometer radius. This process is considered crucial to ensure no eligible child is left out. Survey teams have been specifically instructed to focus on areas that have been deprived of educational opportunities. These include children of migrant laborers, construction worker families, nomadic children, and children engaged in hazardous work at dhabas, garages, or on streets. Identifying these highly vulnerable children is a priority.

Transparency and accountability have been ensured throughout this process. School heads must cross-verify at least 80% of entries, and all data will be uploaded on the app. This means no manipulation, no child will be missed. The Mann government believes in transparency and accountability.

What the education department said?

According to education department officials, the availability of accurate and verified data will play a decisive role in planning intervention programs, residential schools, and Special Training Centres in the future. This survey is being considered an essential foundational exercise to understand and address education challenges in Punjab.

“Every child in Punjab will study, only then will Punjab become ‘Rangla Punjab’ again!” This slogan reflects the firm resolve of the Bhagwant Mann government, at whose center lies education and the future of every citizen.
