Mumbai: RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat addressed a large gathering at the NSCI Dome in Worli, Mumbai on Sunday. This was the second day of the celebration of 100 years of RSS. The hall was packed – around 900 people had come, which included big industrialists like Harsh Goenka, Sajjan Jindal, Ajay Piramal, Kumar Mangalam Birla and Bollywood stars like Akshay Kumar, Vicky Kaushal, Ananya Panday, Karan Johar, Raveena Tandon, and Shilpa Shetty. The atmosphere was quite enthusiastic.

What did Bhagwat say about infiltrators?

Bhagwat said in a very strict tone that infiltrators can be identified only by their language. People should be alert, keep an eye around – if anyone seems suspicious, immediately report to the police or the appropriate authority. "They will investigate and keep an eye on them. We will also keep an eye on them," he said. The most important thing he said was that "We will not give job to any foreigner. Any person from our country – whether Hindu or Muslim – will get a job, but not a foreigner." He also said that Hindu society is now leaving menial jobs and running after high-paying jobs, due to which the space becomes vacant and infiltrators easily get work.

What did you say on SIR and electoral roll revision?

He praised the Modi government that now the work of identifying and deporting infiltrators has started. The previous governments had done nothing. Now non-Indians are being identified through Census and Special Intensive Revision (SIR), and they will automatically be excluded. Appealed to the people to also support this work – be alert, report, because “this process will be faster.”

Clarity on the relationship between RSS and BJP

Some people say that RSS benefits from BJP, but Bhagwat clarified – "The Sangh has not benefited from the BJP, but the parties associated with the ideology of the Sangh are benefiting from the growing strength of the Sangh and its acceptance in the society."

Is it necessary to be a Brahmin to become a Sarsanghchalak?

On a question, he said that being a Brahmin is not a qualification, nor is being an SC-ST a disqualification. “The one who is best and available will become the Sarsanghchalak. He should only be a Hindu – caste does not matter.” He said that initially the Sangh was started in a Brahmin-dominated area, hence many of the earlier leaders were Brahmins, but now it has spread across the country and there are people from every caste and community.

What did he say about himself?

Even after crossing the age of 75, the Sangh asked him to continue, hence he is working. "I will step down when the union asks, but I will never retire from work." He answered a total of 143 questions – on every issue – Hindutva, education, economy, foreign policy, security, culture, sports, and environment.

Overall, this speech was very popular in the celebration of the centenary of RSS. Bhagwat's focus was on making the society aware, protecting the country's security and identity. People seemed quite impressed after hearing this.
