Heavy rains have been continuing in Mumbai since Sunday, due to which waterlogging has occurred in many areas, and traffic has also been completely affected. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rains in many parts of Maharashtra, including Mumbai. Due to rain, the roads have been submerged, and there is a situation of severe traffic jam.
The heavy rain and storm in Delhi and surrounding areas on Saturday night have broken a 125-year-old record. During this, trees were uprooted at many places, electric poles fell, and traffic was badly affected due to waterlogging on the roads. Flights were delayed and cancelled at IGI Airport as well. The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain on Monday as well.
The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in many states of the Northeast, including Assam, Meghalaya, and Manipur, next week. Torrential rains are likely to continue in these areas from May 25 to May 31, due to which there will be a risk of floods and landslides.
Rajasthan is experiencing severe heat these days, but according to the Meteorological Department, the temperature may drop here from May 28. The heatwave in western Rajasthan has kept the temperature at a very high level, but light showers of monsoon are expected to bring relief in the coming days.
