New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Malaysia on 7 and 8 February. This is not just a formal foreign visit but is being seen as an occasion where politics, business, and culture will come together. His meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled, and the focus of the conversation is clear: how to further strengthen relations.

Why is welcome so much talked about?

This time the maximum enthusiasm is visible in the Indian community there. A big cultural program has been prepared to make the welcome of the Prime Minister memorable. More than 800 artists will take the stage together and perform group dance. Organizers say that this could be the biggest demonstration of its kind and preparations are also underway to register it in the record books.

Around 15 thousand people are expected to attend this function named 'Selamat Datang Modi Ji' i.e. 'Welcome to Modi Ji'. It is clear that the atmosphere will be no less than a celebration.

While there will be classical dances like Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Odissi, Kathakali and Kuchipudi, Bhangra, Lavani, Bihu and other folk dances will also be included. Traditions of different states will be seen on the same platform. In a few minutes the whole of India will appear to have collapsed.

Issues like maintenance of Dornier aircraft, Scorpene submarines and SU-30 aircraft are said to be included on the agenda. There will also be emphasis on increasing trade and investment.

Malaysia is an important partner for India in ASEAN and the Indo-Pacific region. Therefore, both the countries will look for ways to further strengthen economic relations.
