National News: The NDA alliance has suffered a major setback just before the Bihar Assembly elections. Seema Singh, a well-known Bhojpuri actress and the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) candidate from Madhubani in Chhapra district, has had her nomination cancelled. Election officials found some technical issues in her nomination papers, making them invalid. With her out of the race, the NDA’s position in Madhubani has weakened. Earlier, a direct contest between the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan was expected, but now the main contest will be between RJD’s Jitendra Kumar Rai, the current MLA and former Bihar minister, and the Jan Suraj Party.

Seema Singh's transition from Cinema to Politics

The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) candidate and famous Bhojpuri film actress Seema Singh had entered the electoral fray to try her luck in politics. Chirag Paswan had given her a ticket, making the contest for this seat interesting, but now she is out of the election race. During the nomination process, Seema Singh submitted detailed information regarding her educational qualifications and assets, which attracted public attention. According to the election affidavit, Seema Singh has passed the ninth grade. She completed her 9th-grade examination in 1999 from The Rem Hager Hinde High School, Dombivli (East), Thane, Maharashtra.

First Phase Voting Scheduled for November 6

It is noteworthy that elections for the 243-member Bihar Assembly will be held in two phases, on November 6 and 11, while counting of votes will take place on November 14. The NDA alliance has announced its candidates for all seats. JD(U) and BJP have fielded candidates on 101-101 seats each, LJP (Ram Vilas) on 29 seats, Jitan Ram Manjhi’s HAM party and Upendra Kushwaha’s RLKC on 6-6 seats each.
