New Delhi: After presenting the Budget 2026-27, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that this time the budget is focused on increasing productivity and generating employment. Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, she said that the main objective of the budget is to strengthen the country's economy and provide employment opportunities to the youth.

Sitharaman said that the budget is not just an account of government expenditure, but it is part of a long-term economic strategy. She emphasized that many such measures have been included in this budget which will boost production, skill development and employment generation.

The Finance Minister said that many schemes have been proposed in the budget to promote employment. She specifically said that new industrial policies, biopharma, electronics manufacturing and AI-based training programs will provide new opportunities to the youth.
