New Delhi: Nitish Kumar is likely to take oath as Rajya Sabha member on April 10 as per the sources. According to the reports, Nitish Kumar is likely to travel from Patna to Delhi on April 9. He may stay in the national capital for around three days, and is also likely to meet senior BJP leaders.
As per the sources, Nitish Kumar is expected to resign as the Chief Minister soon after returning to Patna. Nitish Kumar's return is expected on or after April 12.
Meanwhile, Bihar Minister Ramkripal Yadav talking about the same said, “Since the Hon’ble Chief Minister (Nitish Kumar) has been elected as a Rajya Sabha member, he will have to take oath within the stipulated time. After that, in due course, he will assign responsibilities to someone. This is a normal process that everyone has to follow. He will do so, and Bihar will get good leadership; under his guidance, someone will take charge and become Chief Minister.”
It is worthy to mentioned here that Nitish Kumar resignsed as MLC after being elected to the Rajya Sabha earlier this month; the JD(U) president steps down following his election to the Upper House of Parliament, PTI reported.
