National News: In a major success, security forces have eliminated Suleimani—the mastermind behind the Pahalgam attack—along with two other terrorists, under Operation Mahadev. This operation also stopped a much larger terror plot from being carried out.

Terror Plan Around Srinagar Uncovered

According to sources, security agencies had received intelligence a few days ago about a group of terrorists planning a major attack in or around Srinagar. The plan included creating a hostage situation and targeting either a patrolling team of security forces or pilgrims traveling to Shri Amareshwar Dham.

Acting on this intelligence, the security forces strengthened their surveillance network and activated electronic monitoring systems. During the investigation, they discovered that foreign terrorists were operating in the Harwan area and were gathering information about sensitive locations through local contacts.

Terrorists' Communication Signals Intercepted

Security officials said that they intercepted communication signals from the mountains near Harwan. Based on this information, a search operation was launched. During the mission, security personnel questioned some suspicious individuals in Dagwan Bahk, located in the Faqir Gujri area. This led them to a breakthrough they had been seeking for a long time.

Terrorists Were Preparing for Attack

Sources confirmed that the terrorists were about to leave their hideout to carry out the planned attack when the army teams—24 RR, 50 RR, and 04 Para—surrounded and neutralized them in a swift encounter.

In addition to Suleimani and his associates, two more terrorists belonging to the Hashim Musa group were also killed during the operation, which continued until late Monday evening.

Suleimani Possibly Linked to Pakistani Army

The police have not yet officially confirmed the identities of the killed terrorists. However, according to intelligence sources, one of them is believed to be Hamza Afghani and the other Jibran.

Further reports suggest that Hashim Musa, who was killed, had previously served as a commando in the Special Strike Group (SSG) of the Pakistani Army before joining the terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba. This detail once again highlights the involvement of the Pakistani military in planning and supporting the Pahalgam attack.
