New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech in the Lok Sabha, scheduled for Wednesday, was postponed. PM Modi was supposed to respond to the motion of thanks on the President's address. The BJP alleges that opposition women MPs surrounded PM Modi's chair, preventing him from reaching it and forcing the postponement of his speech. BJP MP Manoj Tiwari claimed that opposition women MPs surrounded PM Modi's chair and even went beyond it. He said they were very angry and had come with the intention of attacking him.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said, "After what happened in the House today, the country will condemn the Congress. PM Modi was scheduled to speak. At exactly 5 PM, they used women to surround PM Modi's chair. They even went beyond that. What could be the purpose of using women to surround PM Modi's chair? Are you so frustrated by your defeat that you want to attack the Prime Minister? They came with the intention of attacking him in anger. We were all sitting in the House, astonished at what was happening. It was all pre-planned."
Since the beginning of the budget session, there has been considerable uproar in the House. Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi wanted to quote from former Army Chief Naravane's unpublished book on the India-China border dispute, but he was not allowed to do so. This escalated the conflict, and parliamentary proceedings had to be adjourned several times. Following this, on Wednesday, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey also made remarks about the Gandhi-Nehru family while referring to some books, further intensifying the uproar. Congress women MPs, including Varsha Gaikwad and others, advanced towards Nishikant Dubey to demand an answer and strongly criticized him while displaying posters. The BJP alleges that during this time, the women MPs surrounded PM Modi's chair, preventing him from delivering his speech.
Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi claimed on Wednesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not come to Parliament today because he is afraid and does not want to face the truth. Rahul Gandhi arrived at Parliament carrying a copy of former Army Chief M M Naravane's unpublished memoir and said he would present the book to Prime Minister Narendra Modi if he came to the House. After the Lok Sabha proceedings were adjourned for the day, he posted on 'X', "As I said, Prime Minister Modi will not come to Parliament because he is scared and does not want to face the truth."
