New Delhi: In Saharanpur, Deoband cleric Maulana Qari Ishaq Gora gave a strong statement against Pakistani TV serials. He said these shows are creating fights, hatred, and distance among Muslim families. Speaking at a local event, he claimed that such dramas are leading to more cases of divorce and family problems. The cleric urged Muslims, especially women, to avoid these serials and follow Islamic teachings and values instead.
According to Maulana Ishaq Gora, Pakistani television dramas have poisoned the relationships that hold families together. He said that these serials, filled with negativity, jealousy, and emotional manipulation, are quietly damaging the moral foundation of Muslim homes. “These shows are influencing people’s minds and turning peaceful homes into places of tension,” he added. The cleric said that the rise in arguments and misunderstandings among family members is closely linked to what people watch on television daily.
Maulana Gora directly connected the growing number of divorce cases to the impact of these serials. He said, “These dramas are spreading poison in our homes. They often show continuous conflicts between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law, depict men as cruel, and women as helpless. Such portrayals are not only false but also harmful to our culture and relationships.” He further explained that these stories create unrealistic expectations, encourage disrespect, and weaken the trust and love that bind families.
The Deoband cleric urged Muslim women in particular to stop watching these dramas, as they are the most targeted audience for such shows. He said the stories and visuals affect their emotions and decisions, leading to conflicts and separation within families. “Television has filled our homes with poison,” Maulana Gora said. “Muslim women should avoid such programs and return to Islamic teachings and values.” He concluded by emphasizing that true happiness and peace in families can only be achieved through faith, patience, and adherence to Islamic morals.
