Pappu Yadav Dresses As Sadhu, Protests In Parliament Over Alleged Ram Mandir Donation Scam

New Delhi: Independent MP Pappu Yadav and other Opposition leaders protested in the Parliament complex on Friday over the alleged theft of donations at the Ayodhya Ram Temple. The MP arrived in a saffron-clad attire to enact 'Chanda chori'. Leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi joined Pappu Yadav in protest, whereas Samajwadi Party MPs also protested with him on this issue. 

What happen in Parliament?

Pappu Yadav on Friday reached the Parliament wearing a saffron attire and holding a photo of Lord Ram in his hand. In the video, the MP can be seen sitting with a donation box resembling a temple 'hundi', which were placed near the steps of Makar Dwar, and recreating the alleged fund theft in the Ram temple. 

In the viral clip, during the act, MP's including Rahul Gandhi can be seen walking towards him and  placing money inside the box. 

During the act, Pappu Yadav can be seen placing some money into his pockets to symbolise the alleged theft at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. 

What did the Speaker say?

The Speaker of the Lok Sabha expressed displeasure over the act of members coming to Parliament with disguises in the House and asked members to uphold the prestige of the Parliament and to participate in the proceedings. The Lok Sabha was adjourned for a while following the protest. 

However, the opposition while terming the demonstration as democratic protest clarified that they would continue to question the government on various issues. 

The 10th day of the monsoon session of Parliament began on Friday, however, as soon as proceedings in the House commenced a large-scale ruckus started. After which the Speaker of Lok Sabha Om Birla had also cautioned the members in the House on the conduct and dress code of the Parliament in and outside it.
