New Delhi: In a historic move, President Droupadi Murmu took to the skies in a Rafale fighter jet from Ambala Air Force Station. The special focus of the this historic sortie of President Murmu is a stern message to the enemies as well as it showcase the prowess of Indian Air Force.
In the video, President Droupadi Murmu can be seen waving as she takes off for a sortie in a Rafale fighter jet from Ambala air base. It is to be noted here that ''Rafale jets were used during Operation Sindoor, launched by India in response to the April 22 dastardly Pahalgam terror attack,'' reported PTI.
The president was accompanied by the Indian Air Force chief, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh on the jet. It is to be noted here that an official statement was released by the Rashtrapati Bhavan regarding same. The official statement read, "The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, will visit Ambala, Haryana, where she will take a sortie in Rafale."

This is not for the first time, when President Murmu took the jet. Earlier in 2003, President Murmu took a flight in Indian Air Force Sukhoi-30MKI fighter jet in Assam. She was in the air for about 30 minutes. She flew over the Brahmaputra River and the Tezpur valley.
In the video shared below from the Ambala Air Base, President Droupadi Murmu can be seen returning after completing a sortie in Rafale fighter jet. After her historic sortie, the President was welcomed at the airbase by the officials over there.
