Rivers are in spate, and villages and cities are submerged in water. The Meteorological Department says that there is little hope of relief in many states for the next few days.

Situation in hill states

Rain stopped in many places in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh on Saturday, but the danger still persists. A landslide warning has been issued in the Nainital and Champawat districts of Uttarakhand. Due to a cloudburst in Naugaon town of Uttarkashi, drains overflowed and a house collapsed. The death toll has increased further after four bodies were found while removing debris in Kullu, Himachal.

Prime Minister's visit to Punjab

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the affected districts of Punjab on September 9. According to the information, his first stop will be Gurdaspur, where the water released from the Ravi River has caused devastation in many villages. Apart from this, the Prime Minister can also do an aerial survey of Amritsar and Tarn Taran. The Punjab government has not received the detailed program, but Chief Secretary KAP Sinha has confirmed the visit.

Devastation in Rajasthan

Heavy rains have damaged roads in Rajasthan. About half a kilometer of National Highway-162 from Rajsamand to Jodhpur has been washed away. The Jaipur-Khekdi road has been closed for the last four days. In Jaipur, a father and daughter died, while five people were injured when an old building collapsed amid rain. A farmer lost his life due to lightning in Kota.

Condition of Haryana and Delhi

About 10 lakh acres of crops have been submerged in water in Haryana. So far more than 1.5 lakh farmers have reported losses. The water level of the Yamuna River is still above the danger mark, although the water in Tangri and Ghaggar has decreased.

The water level of the Yamuna in Delhi is gradually decreasing and has come down below 207 meters. Despite this, it remains above the danger mark. More than 20 thousand people are living in relief camps in the capital. Here the arrangement of cleanliness and medicines remains a challenge for the administration.

Sutlej increased trouble

In Ludhiana district, the water of the Sutlej River has entered the fields by breaking the embankment. A dozen villages have come under threat. The administration has appealed to the affected families to move to safer places. The water released from the Bhakra dam has been reduced so that the situation can be managed.
