Bihar Elections 2025: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has suffered a major setback before the first phase of Bihar assembly elections. Party candidate from the Sasaram seat, Satyendra Saha, was arrested soon after filing his nomination on Monday. As soon as the nomination process was completed, Jharkhand Police took Satyendra Saha into custody. A standing warrant was issued against him in a 21-year-old robbery case registered in the Garhwa district of Jharkhand. This case is being told of the year 2004. As soon as Saha submitted his nomination in Sasaram, the police team reached the spot, took action and arrested him.
After the arrest, Bihar Police handed over Satyendra Saha to Jharkhand Police. Now he will be presented in the court of Garhwa. This entire incident happened during the nomination process itself, which created a stir in the area.
As soon as the news of Saha's arrest spread, there was anger and surprise among RJD supporters. Many people are calling it a conspiracy, while the administration says that it is a legal action, which has nothing to do with the elections. Due to this incident, there has been a sudden change in the election atmosphere in the Sasaram seat. With the candidate going to jail, it has become challenging for RJD to run the campaign.
Satyendra Saha has already been active in politics. He also contested the assembly elections from the Sasaram seat in 2010 on a Congress (J) ticket. His wife has also previously contested for the post of Mayor in the Municipal Corporation elections.
Saha's arrest has once again raised questions about crime and the background of the candidates in electoral politics. Such actions during elections not only create political turmoil but also impact voter perception.
