New Delhi: Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to visit India on December 4 and 5 for a high-level state meeting. The high-level engagement also include the 23rd India-Russia Summit on December 5. The news was confirmed by Kremlin foreign policy aide Yuri Ushakov.

He stated that active preparations with Indian counterparts. Notably, the visit will fulfill the annual summit commitment between Putin and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.​

What are the expectations of this grand outcomes?

According to an interview with VGTRK Russian State TV, Yuri Ushakov the trip is going to be "extremely grand" due to its state visit status and "fruitful in every sense." The vist is going to provide a platform for in-depth discussions on bilateral ties and global issues, building on recent high-level interactions like External Affairs Minister (EAM) Dr S Jaishankar's Moscow visit where Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reiterated the timeline.​

It is to be noted here that as Putin will visit India, both the countries are expected to finalise a series of bilateral agreements. Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar recently during an extensive discussion in Moscow with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov and discussed to smooth the path for these developments.

During the discussion, Jaishankar stated that the upcoming deals will add significant substance and depth to the longstanding Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between the two countries, reinforcing their multilayered cooperation.
