National News: A tragic road accident on Friday night in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal district turned the joy of a wedding celebration into deep sorrow. The incident took place in the Junawai police station area of Gunnaur tehsil, where a Bolero vehicle carrying members of a wedding procession collided with the wall of a school. Five people, including the groom, lost their lives, while five others sustained critical injuries. The impact was so severe that the Bolero was completely destroyed.

Death Strikes During Wedding Journey

As per reports, a wedding procession from Hargovindpur village was heading towards the Ughaiti police station area in Badaun district. The groom, Surajpal (son of Sukhram), was traveling with his family and relatives in the Bolero. As the vehicle was moving along the state highway, the driver reportedly lost control, causing the Bolero to crash into the wall of an intercollege located on the roadside.

Panic and Chaos at the Spot

The loud crash drew the attention of nearby residents and passersby, who immediately rushed to the scene. Upon being informed, police from the Junawai police station arrived promptly and worked to rescue all ten passengers from the mangled vehicle. All victims were immediately taken to a government hospital, where five were declared dead. The remaining five are currently in critical condition.

Victims Include Groom, Children, and Family Members

The deceased were all from the groom’s family and included

  • Groom Surajpal
  • His sister-in-law Asha (wife of Lal Singh)
  • Asha’s two-year-old daughter Aishwarya
  • Two-year-old Vishnu (son of Manoj)
  • One unidentified individual

The sudden accident has devastated the family, turning what was supposed to be a moment of celebration into an unimaginable tragedy.

Injured Shifted to Higher Medical Facility

The injured have been identified as

  • Ravi (son of Bachchu Singh)
  • Komal, the groom’s sister
  • Himanshu
  • And two unidentified individuals

All were first treated at the Junawai Community Health Center and later referred to a higher medical facility due to the seriousness of their injuries.

ASP Anukriti Sharma Confirms the Incident

ASP Anukriti Sharma confirmed the fatalities and stated that the Bolero was severely damaged and had to be removed from the wall using a JCB machine. Preliminary investigations suggest that overspeeding may have caused the accident. However, a thorough probe is underway to examine all possible angles.

A Celebration Turned into Mourning

The house once echoing with wedding preparations is now filled with cries of grief. The entire village is in a state of shock, as several members of the same family lost their lives in the tragic incident. Locals say this accident has left behind a sorrow that will haunt the families for a lifetime.

This devastating accident in Sambhal once again serves as a grim reminder of the dangers of speeding and negligence. A moment meant to bring joy was transformed into a scene of tragedy.
