National News:Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Semicon India 2025 conference today. The three-day event is considered an important initiative towards making India a center of the semiconductor industry globally. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said in a statement released on Monday that PM Modi will also participate in the CEO roundtable on Wednesday, where he will hold direct talks with the legendary industry leaders.

Purpose of conference

The main objective of this conference is to promote the semiconductor ecosystem in India. The government has been making efforts to achieve self-sufficiency in the region and attract international investment for a long time. Progress of the Semicon India Program at the conference, state-of-the-art semiconductor fabrication, advanced packaging projects, research, and development.

Huge international participation

More than 20,750 people are expected to attend the program, including around 2,500 international representatives from 48 countries. This global participation not only highlights India's emerging technical capacity but also indicates that the world community is considering India as a reliable partner in the semi-sector region. Experts say that this conference will play an important role in attracting investment to the country, taking employment generation and technological progress to new heights.

The road so far

The Semicon India conference in India started in 2022 in Bengaluru. This was followed by Gandhinagar in 2023 and Greater Noida in 2024. Every year the event has strengthened cooperation between the industry and the government. Based on the experiences and investment proposals from previous conferences, the government has prepared many new policies, which can be seen in this year's event.

Towards technical self-sufficiency

The semiconductor industry is considered the backbone of any modern economy. From mobile phones to automobiles and defense equipment, it is important in every field. India is still dependent on large-scale imports in the region. But the government wants that in the coming years the country should not only meet domestic needs but also become exporters. This is the reason why special attention is being paid to this conference.

Semicon India 2025 is not only a conference but also symbolizes India's technical ambitions. If the investment and associated projects fixed in it are successful, then India may register a strong presence in the global semiconductor market in the coming time.
