National News: On Wednesday night, the tragedy of nature and negligence combined in Uttar Pradesh's Badaun district took such a horrific form that the streets of Sonbudi village turned into ashes. A spark that flared up amid heavy storm and rain destroyed the entire village. In just a few hours, 80 houses were turned to ashes and people's years of savings went up in smoke.
The wedding procession was to leave from the house of a youth named Babi in the village. The house was decorated, relatives had come, and songs were resonating. But the fire that spread with the storm at night engulfed everything. The wedding pavilion, clothes, utensils, gifts - everything was turned to ashes. Now there is only ash and silence in that house.
According to eyewitnesses, food was being cooked in a house. Suddenly a strong storm came, and the flames of the stove caught the tiled roof. Then the speed of the wind dispersed the fire in the entire village. Everyone, wherever they were, picked up the children, freed the cattle and ran towards the fields.
The villagers immediately informed the police and fire brigade, but the storm obstructed the roads. Due to the falling of trees, the fire trucks got stuck in the middle of the way. Many policemen reached the village through the fields on bikes. The Jarifnagar inspector himself rode a bike and started extinguishing the fire.
On the other hand, a massive fire broke out in a mentha factory in Ujhani. The gas cylinders kept inside started exploding, due to which the sound of explosions echoed in the entire area. The village Kudha Narsinghpur situated behind the factory was immediately evacuated. The police announced through the mike and evacuated the people safely.
When the fire subsided on Thursday morning, only ashes, broken doors, and people crying bitterly were left in the village. Some lost their dreams of marriage, some lost their life's earnings. The administration did reach the spot, but late. People now have only one hope - the government should help, so that these ashes can become a house again.
