New Delhi. New and solid digital evidence has now emerged in the espionage case related to YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who is on the radar of Indian security agencies. It is becoming clear from these evidences that Malhotra's network was not limited to social media but his relations were deeply connected with the intelligence system of Pakistan. According to sources, he was in contact with many Pakistani intelligence agents and he used end-to-end encrypted apps like Telegram, Snapchat and WhatsApp for communication.

Many mobiles, many names but one purpose

Investigative agencies have found that Jyoti used several devices and saved numbers under fake names to hide her espionage network. In one instance, a number saved under the name 'Jat Randhawa' actually belonged to a Pakistani agent Shakir. At the same time, the names of other suspects have come to the fore as Ali Ahwan and Rana Shahbaz. The investigation has also revealed that she was in constant touch with these agents after visiting Pakistan in 2023. The most shocking revelation was that Jyoti's main contact was Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, posted in the Pak High Commission in Delhi, who was recently declared an 'undesirable person' by the Government of India and asked to leave the country. Agencies suspect that a local mastermind was behind her many visits to Pakistan.

The role of SGMC employee is also under investigation

Harkirat Singh, associated with the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, is also now on the radar of investigative agencies. According to the police, he helped Jyoti get a Pakistan visa and join Sikh groups. Her digital devices have been seized for forensic analysis. The police suspect that Jyoti was not limited to just sending information, but she was also a part of Pakistan's psychological propaganda machinery. During the recent Operation Sindoor, several Indian agencies reported that Pakistan had activated several 'sleeper cells' to obtain defense information.

Freedom of Expression vs. National Security

Jyoti did not express any regrets during the interrogation. A senior police officer said that she says that she just expressed her views and she has the right to freedom of expression. Father Harish Malhotra, who initially supported his daughter's visit to Pakistan, has now distanced himself and given a big statement. He said that she used to tell me that she was going to Delhi. I did not know where she was going. This case can now be handed over from Haryana Police to NIA. In the coming days, this case can create a new definition not only of security but also of social media monitoring and cyber crime.
