New Delhi: Monsoon has become active again in the country. It is raining heavily in many states from north to east-west. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert in 22 states today, September 15. In view of the heavy rains in Gujarat, a red alert has been issued. At the same time, rain with thunderstorms and strong winds is expected in many states including Delhi, UP, Bihar, MP, Punjab, Haryana.
It will be cloudy in Delhi-NCR today. There may be light rain. The maximum temperature will be around 32 degrees and the minimum will be around 24 degrees.
It is raining heavily at many places in Gujarat. There is a warning of very heavy rain in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Morbi, Porbandar, Surendranagar and Dwarka. Therefore, red alert has been issued in these 8 districts.
There is a possibility of rain and lightning along with strong wind in many districts of UP including Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur. Wind can blow at a speed of 30 to 50 km per hour.
There is yellow alert in almost half the districts of Bihar. There may be rain and thundershowers in East-West Champaran, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Buxar, Bhojpur, Rohtas.
There may be good rain and thundershowers in MP's Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Narmadapuram, Betul. Punjab and Haryana have also been asked to remain alert regarding lightning and storm.
It will rain intermittently in Uttarakhand and Himachal. The weather will be cold but there may be problems like landslides or jams at some places.
There are chances of rain in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal also. Besides, rain alert has also been issued in Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu. The Meteorological Department has said that rain may continue in many states for the next few days, so be a little careful during strong wind and lightning.
