New Delhi: In an unfortunate incident, former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj’s husband, Swaraj Kaushal, passed away today. He was senior advocate and former Mizoram Governor. He died at the age of 73. The news of his demise was shared by Delhi BJP on its official X handle.
Expressing his gratitude, Delhi BJP MLA Satish Upadhyay said, "Deeply saddened to hear about the sudden demise of Former Governor of Mizoram & Senior Advocate Shri Swaraj Kaushal ji. Husband of Late Smt. Sushma Swaraj ji and father of Hon’ble MP Ms. Bansuri Swaraj. He served the nation with integrity, wisdom and unmatched dedication. My heartfelt condolences to Bansuri ji and the entire family. May his soul rest in peace. Om Shanti."
He was one of the renowned lawyers. He was the Governor of Mizoram. Sharing the news of his demise, Delhi BJP also informed that his funerals will be performed on December 4 at 4:30 PM at the Lodhi Road crematorium.
Member of Parliament and Sushma Swaraj's daughter Bansuri Swaraj expressing her grief, took to her X and wrote, ''Papa Swaraj Kaushal ji, your affection, your discipline, your simplicity, your patriotism, and your boundless patience are the light of my life that will never dim.''
She added, Your departure has descended upon me as the deepest pain of the heart, but the mind holds onto this belief that you have now reunited with Mother, in the presence of God, in eternal peace.''
She wrote further, ''Being your daughter is the greatest pride of my life, and your legacy, your values, and your blessings will be the foundation of every journey ahead.''
