Ayushman Bharat Rolled Out in Bengal, BSF Land Approved in Shubhendu’s First Cabinet Meet

Kolkata: After the formation of the BJP government in West Bengal, the first cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari, in which many major decisions were taken. The government has given clear indications that now the schemes and policies of the Center will be implemented rapidly in the state. In the meeting, decisions were taken on important issues ranging from implementation of Ayushman Bharat scheme to border security, recruitment process and Indian Judicial Code. The chief minister also thanked the Election Commission and the voters.

Will Ayushman Bharat scheme be implemented in Bengal now?

The biggest decision taken by the new government was regarding Ayushman Bharat scheme. BJP had promised during the election campaign that this health scheme of the center would be implemented in the state as soon as it comes to power. After the cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari said that Bengal is now officially joining the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Along with this, the process of implementing other schemes of the central government has also been started in the state.

Why is the decision to give land to BSF in 45 days important?

A major decision regarding border security was also taken in the cabinet meeting. The government has announced to start the process of providing land to BSF for border fencing. The chief minister said that this step is necessary in view of the changing circumstances and security needs in the border areas. The government has set a target to complete the land allotment process within 45 days.

Why were 321 BJP workers remembered?

During the meeting, Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari paid tribute to the 321 BJP workers who died in political violence. He said that the sacrifices of these workers will not go in vain and the government will take all possible steps to provide justice to their families. The chief minister also said that the new government will take strict action against political violence.

Will the new law be fully implemented in Bengal now?

The state government has also decided to implement the Indian Judicial Code i.e. BNS with immediate effect. According to the chief minister, now all new cases registered in West Bengal will be registered under the new law. Apart from this, central training and deployment of bureaucrats, which was stopped during the previous government, has also been approved.

Will the way for government recruitment open?

The government admitted that after 2015, there were no large-scale recruitments in the state. In such a situation, a decision was taken in the cabinet meeting to start a new recruitment process. Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari said that new appointments will be announced soon to provide employment to the youth. The government claims that these decisions will decide the direction of “New Bengal”.
