Tej Pratap’s Viral Post Sparks Chaos: Lalu ‘Abandons’ Son Over 12-Year Relationship Claim

A few months before the assembly elections, Bihar politics was shaken last night when a picture with a girl named Anushka Yadav was posted from the social media account of Lalu Prasad Yadav's elder son Tej Pratap. In this, Tej said that he and Anushka Yadav know and love each other for the last 12 years.

The post, featuring a photo of the two, was quickly deleted, with Tej Pratap alleging his account was hacked. However, the damage was done, as the revelation stirred widespread controversy, especially given his 2018 marriage to Aishwarya Rai, which ended amid allegations of mistreatment. 

Lalu’s Drastic Measures
Lalu Prasad Yadav, in a statement on X on May 25, 2025, condemned Tej Pratap’s actions as contrary to the family’s values and the RJD’s commitment to social justice. The decision to expel him for six years and sever familial ties was framed as a necessary step to protect the party’s image ahead of Bihar’s assembly elections. Tej Pratap’s history of erratic behavior, including past rebellions like forming the Lalu Rabri Morcha in 2019, has long strained party dynamics.  This public rift has raised questions about the RJD’s unity.

Political and Public Fallout
The controversy has fueled intense debate in Bihar’s political circles. Supporters of Tej Pratap argue he was unfairly targeted, with some X posts calling Lalu’s reaction hypocritical given the family’s political history. Critics, however, see the expulsion as a strategic move to streamline the RJD under Tejashwi’s leadership. The BJP and JD(U) have capitalized on the chaos, highlighting the RJD’s internal fractures.
