West Bengal: In a major security breach and political flashpoint, Trinamool Congress (TMC) National General Secretary and MP Abhishek Banerjee was violently attacked by an angry mob on Saturday evening in the Kamarabad area of Sonarpur, West Bengal.

The senior TMC leader had to be rushed out of the area by security personnel wearing a motorcycle helmet to protect himself from a barrage of stones and raw eggs.
