It is written in the tweet that 'Trump has imposed 25% tariff on India and also imposed penalty. The country is suffering the consequences of Narendra Modi's 'friendship'.

Along with this, it was also written that 'Modi campaigned for Trump, hugged him, got his photos clicked and made them trend on social media. In the end, Trump imposed tariffs on India. India's foreign policy has completely failed.

Trump Imposes 25% Tariff On India

Actually, US President Donald Trump has announced to impose a 25 percent tariff on India, which will come into effect from August 1. Trump said on the social media platform 'X' that India is our friend, but its tariffs are very high, which makes it difficult for America to increase trade.

He also said that India is constantly buying weapons from Russia, which is not right in the current global situation. Keeping all these things in mind, America has decided to impose this tariff on India. Regarding this, Congress has tweeted this taking a dig at Prime Minister Modi.

Congress Targets Modi Amid Trade Shock

It is worth noting that talks were going on for a long time between India and America regarding the trade agreement, but now Trump took a unilateral step and announced this decision. Meanwhile, BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal has expressed hope that the Indian government will soon take action on this issue and will talk to the US administration.

He said that this decision can make things expensive in the market, so it will be necessary to study its impact. He further said, "It is unfortunate that tariffs have been imposed. I hope that the Trump administration will soon realize this and they will withdraw this decision."
