New Delhi: The Meteorological Department states that the spell of rain and thunderstorms will continue on May 30. On Saturday, parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, and western Uttar Pradesh will experience rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. During this period, strong winds (50–70 km/h) are likely to prevail. Hailstorms may also occur in some locations. A drop of 3–5 degrees in maximum temperatures is possible, offering some relief from the heat.

Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra will also witness rain and thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds. Heatwave conditions are subsiding in parts of Rajasthan and Gujarat, though daytime temperatures will remain high. The weather in these regions is expected to remain unstable, which could impact agricultural activities and traffic movement.

Rain in Which States on Saturday?

In South India - specifically Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Lakshadweep, and Andhra Pradesh - heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely on May 30. Coastal areas will experience thunderstorms and strong winds (40–50 km/h). Parts of Karnataka are also expected to witness thunderstorms accompanied by moderate rainfall. Pre-monsoon activities are currently active in these states, raising the risk of flooding or waterlogging. Temperatures will remain below normal; however, high humidity levels will make the weather feel hot and sultry. Fishermen and residents of coastal areas are advised to remain vigilant.

What is Weather Outlook for Bihar and Jharkhand?

In Eastern and Northeastern India—including states such as Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, as well as Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh—heavy rainfall is expected on Saturday. Additionally, thunderstorms and strong winds will persist. In the Northeast, very heavy rainfall could lead to flood-like situations. Torrential rain is also possible in Sikkim and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. While temperatures in these regions may see a slight dip, persistent humidity could exacerbate health-related issues. Farmers are advised to take necessary measures to protect their crops.

How is Weather in Gujarat and Maharashtra?

Parts of Western India - specifically Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh - will experience rain accompanied by thunder and lightning, while the remaining parts of Rajasthan will remain primarily dry, albeit with partly cloudy skies. Temperatures may hover slightly above normal levels, though the rainfall activity will provide some relief. Thus, across most parts of the country, the end of May is expected to remain relatively cool due to the rains, thereby mitigating the intensity of the summer heat.
