New Delhi: Pakistan army and security forces played a blood-war in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK). According to the report, Pakistan army did the firing against protesters. 27 people were killed in that firing. Tensions had been erupted in the region after the incident. The Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) leveled allegations against security forces, claiming they fired upon civilians gathered for final rituals. The incident occurred when there were elections contested at Gilgit Baltistan on June 7.
The gathering was there for the last rituals of a Shahjeb Habib. He was killed by Pakistan rangers. According to the Action Committee leaders, people were gathered to the prayer for last rights of Shahjeb, outside the combined military hospital in Rawalkot. Aawami Action Committee leaders were also in this. During the period, people were raising the slogans against Pakistan army and the government. Following this, Pakistan government had started firing the gathering.
According to the report, Committee had put the allegations on security forces that the 27 protesters had been killed. But according to locals, more than 100 people had died. Although there is no confirmation on the exact number of death yet.
Aawami Action Committee had put the allegations that more than 100 people are under arrested. Committee also alleged that the dead bodies are taken into custody.
PoK violence occurred in that time when this region is in the unrest for few weeks. The people of PoK are protesting against the Pakistan security forces and government against the imposement and aristocratic behaviors. According to activists, there were conflicts between protesters and security forces. In which 7 people had been killed. 4 personnel from PoK police and 3 were there from Rangers adn frontiers corps.
