New Delhi: 'Cockroach Janata Party', which has become a topic of discussion on social media, has now got a new and unique opponent. Former Supreme Court judge Justice Markandey Katju has announced a new political campaign named 'Ishq Karo Party.' Appealing to the youth to join this initiative, he said its slogan is 'Make love, not war' i.e. 'Make love, not war'.
Justice Katju posted on social media platform X that the youth of the country should rise above the politics of hatred and confrontation and promote love, harmony and brotherhood. He also called upon interested people to join the party. Katju says that amidst the increasing bitterness in the society, there is a need to strengthen the culture of love and dialogue.
Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) started as a satirical online campaign. This movement became increasingly popular on social media over issues related to unemployment, examination scams and youth. Its founder is Abhijeet Dipke, who took it forward by calling it the voice of the youth. Within no time this campaign became a topic of discussion among lakhs of youth.
The root of this entire incident is considered to be a controversial comment, after which the youth on social media created a platform called 'Cockroach Janata Party' as a satire and protest. Later it was not limited to mere jokes but became a medium for discussion on issues related to unemployment and education system.
In the last few years, social media has emerged as a major platform for many campaigns and mass movements. The discussion of Cockroach Janata Party and now Ishq Karo Party has once again shown that initiatives started in the internet world can become the subject of national debate. However, it remains to be seen whether this initiative takes the form of an organized campaign in the future or remains limited to social media only.
After the announcement of Ishq Karo Party, people gave different reactions on social media. Some people called it an initiative to give a positive message to the society, while many users called it a satire on the current political environment. Some people also jokingly talked about taking membership in the party.
