Hong Kong Sixes: India Clinches 2-Run Win over Pakistan, Uthappa Leads the Charge

Hong Kong: In the Group C match, the teams of India national cricket team and Pakistan national cricket team faced each other on Friday in the Hong Kong Sixes 2025 at the Mansion Road Ground in Mong Kok (Hong Kong). Pakistan won the toss and decided to bowl first. When India batted, it scored 86 runs at the loss of 4 wickets in 6 overs. Later, Pakistan's innings was at 41/1, but the play was stopped due to rain and India won by DLS method by a narrow lead of 2 runs. 

How tremendous was India's start?

As soon as India's innings opened, two batsmen made a big splash. Robin Uthappa scored 28 runs in just 11 balls, which included 3 sixes and 2 fours. Whereas Bharat Chipli scored 24 runs in 13 balls. Together they made a partnership of 42 runs in the second over and gained momentum. Captain Dinesh Karthik added 17 unbeaten runs in 6 balls. 

Thus, India set a target, although it was not a huge one – but in the six-over six-match format it proved to be decisive.

Pakistan's innings and rain decision

Pakistan started well in the chase. The score after the third over was 41/1. But then the sky changed — a sudden rain interrupted the game. The match did not go ahead and India was declared the winner by DLS method as per the rules. With this victory, India got a significant lead in the pool points table.

After this victory, India will move ahead and try to maintain its momentum in the next match. It will not be so easy for Pakistan to win the next match because India has got the mental edge.
