Sports News: The Indian team is facing a huge problem of multiple injuries at the moment. The third seamer, Akash Deep, is out due to a back injury. Arshdeep Singh, who did not feature in any of the tests this series, is also injured. All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is also not fully fit alongside Rishabh Pant, who got hit on the finger while keeping in the Lord's test. Former Indian batter and Star Sports broadcaster Akash Chopra has raised many questions over the inclusion of Anshul Kamboj, who is called as a back-up for both Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh.

"Harshit Rana should have been picked for continuity."

Before the start of the series, Harshit Rana was told to stay back for the first test. Many felt that Anshul Kamnoj should have been the one to stay back because of his great outing with the ball against the England Lions. “It's very interesting. There was a lot of chatter about Anshul Kamboj. He did well for India A as well, but when there was an opportunity earlier, the team management chose Harshit Rana first. Anshul was sent back home, and now we are learning about his name again,” Chopra said on his YouTube channel.

"What is actually going on?"

“Harshit Rana is not there. Now you have to wonder, what actually goes on? How do you determine who to keep and who to let go of? If you talk about performances for India A, Anshul's performance was better, but you kept Harshit Rana looking at continuity,” he added.

Chopra questions Gambhir says there's "no clarity"

Akash Chopra said that there is no clarity regarding the selection of the players. He blamed head coach Gautam Gambhir and the team management. “If that was the case, then you should have kept Harshit Rana now as well. But he is not there; Anshul Kamboj is there. No clarity whatsoever,” said Chopra.

“Maybe the management knows, but nobody is telling us anything. This comes as no surprise. Anshul Kamboj was deserving; he is now with the team,” he added. India currently trails the Anderson Tendulkar Trophy by 1-2. Both teams will face off in the fourth test in Manchester starting Wednesday, July 23rd.
