New Delhi: Now only a few days are left for the IPL to start, but the complete schedule has not been revealed yet. Fans are repeatedly asking when the remaining matches will be announced and how many matches will be played this time. Now the picture on this has become clear to a great extent.
There was discussion for a long time that this time the number of matches may increase. But nothing like this is going to happen. This time too IPL will remain in the same old format and only 74 matches will be played. This means that those who were expecting change will have to wait a little longer.
BCCI has just released the schedule of the first 20 matches, which will be played from March 28 to April 12.
The dates of the remaining 54 matches are yet to be revealed and it is believed that this schedule will be released just before the start of the season.
This time elections made scheduling a bit difficult. Voting is to be held in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Assam, hence matches cannot be held in these states on those days. For this reason the board is taking time to finalize the complete plan.
Wherever elections are held, there will be no matches on those specific dates. In cities like Chennai, Kolkata and Guwahati, contests will not be held on voting days, so that security and order are not affected.
Another interesting thing is where the home matches of Rajasthan Royals will be held. The first three matches have been scheduled in Guwahati, but the situation is not clear yet whether the remaining matches will be held in Jaipur or somewhere else.
It is certain that the tournament will start on March 28 and the final will be played on May 31. Now just waiting for the complete schedule so that fans can get complete information about every match.
