New Delhi: Indian batter, Shreyas Iyer is out of danger and has been taken out of the ICU in the Sydney Hospital, as per the reports of the Cricbuzz. Notably, the ace cricketer was admitted in the hospital after sustaining a rib injury in Sydney. The ace cricketer suffered a spleen injury in Sydney when he was fielding during the third ODI against Australia. Later, a statement of BCCI was alsoreleased that stated Shreyas Iyer's condition is stable and improving.
It is to be mentioned here that Shreyas suffered injury on October 25 at the Sydney Cricket Ground while he was diving a full stretch to take a catch of Alex Carey. Soon after the catch, Shreyas Iyer felt immense pain and was immediately taken off the field. He was then rushed to the nearby hospital for scans.
Sharing health update of Shreyas Iyer, BCCI released a statement, which showed a laceration to the spleen, which is an injury that resulted into internal bleeding. BCCI statement read, ''Shreyas Iyer sustained an impact injury to his left lower rib-cage region while fielding during the third ODI in Sydney. Scans have revealed a laceration injury to the spleen. He is under treatment, medically stable, and recovering well.”
After the reports of Shreyas Iyer's inury, former India batter Shikhar Dhawan expressed his concern and wished speedy recovery to his former teammate. Shikhar Dhawan took his 'X' and shared an emotional post. In his post, Shikhar wrote, ''Gave it your all for that catch. Unfortunate to see you pick up that injury. Wishing you a strong and speedy recovery, brother.''
It is to noted here that Shreyas Iyer got injured in the third ODI against Australia at Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney.
It is to be noted here that Shreyas is out of danger now, as per the reports of Cricbuzz. He is likely to remain in the hospital for close observation for few more days, as per reports. Shreyas Iyer's family members are likely to leave from from Mumbai after the required visa formalities are done.
However, it is to be mentioned here that there is no official statement related to his recovery timeline. However, it is assumed that Shreyas Iyer will not play the South Africa ODIs, scheduled to be held in India in November-December.
