New Delhi: Delhi Capitals has announced its new head coach before the upcoming IPL 2027 season. Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has been appointed as the new head coach of DC. The Delhi team gave this information to the fans by releasing a video of Dada on social media. Along with the video it was written 'Delhi, now it is the time for Dadagiri'. Let us tell you, on Monday itself Delhi Capitals had officially announced the separation from its current coaching staff before the 2027 IPL season. Ganguly will replace Hemang Badani in the coaching staff of Delhi Capitals, who was the head coach of the team in the 2025 and 2026 seasons.

The Delhi Capitals coaching team included former Indian players Hemang Badani as head coach, Venugopal Rao as cricket director, Munaf Patel as bowling coach, Ian Bell as assistant coach and John Mooney as fielding coach.

GMR was managing the team for these two seasons under an operating agreement signed between them and co-owner JSW in 2024. After the completion of two years, all of them have been relieved and DC will now have a new coaching staff.

Sourav Ganguly has a long association with Delhi Capitals

Sourav Ganguly has a long association with the Delhi Capitals. He first joined the team as an advisor in 2019. At the time, he was the president of the CAB and later became the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Ganguly stated at the time that his role as CAB president was honorary and that he could not influence IPL-related activities. Earlier this year, Ganguly served as head coach of the Pretoria Capitals in South Africa's SA20 League, his first experience as a coach. He has also been associated with the Delhi Capitals team in the Women's Premier League.

Yuvraj Singh may get a big responsibility after Ganguly

Reports suggest that Yuvraj Singh may join the Delhi Capitals coaching staff. Yuvraj has nurtured many players behind the scenes, but he may now be seen coaching at DC's camp. He could be added to the Delhi Capitals coaching staff as a batting coach. He has nurtured players like Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill, who are currently making waves for India on the international stage.
