Bhopal Garba Advisory: The Madhya Pradesh Muslim Festival Committee has appealed to Muslim youth to maintain peace, restraint, and religious decorum regarding Garba and other religious events starting in Bhopal on October 11. The committee's state president, Zeeshan Rahman, alias Shanu, urged the youth to respect the faith and traditions of all religions and to obey the law.
Sanu appealed to Muslim youth to avoid unnecessary participation in religious events for the sake of reels, likes, and views. He urged them to avoid controversy, conflict, provocation, and inappropriate reactions. He said that the consequences of one person's mistake can affect the entire family and society. Therefore, every youth should understand their responsibility for their behavior and avoid taking any action that could harm the social environment.
The committee clarified that this appeal is not against Garba or any religion, but rather to raise awareness among youth about responsible behavior, religious decorum, law enforcement, and social harmony. The committee has also written to the government and administration, requesting them to take necessary action to ensure that the appeal reaches universities, colleges, technical and medical institutions, and hostels before October 11th.
It should be noted that Sharadiya Navratri begins on October 11th. During Navratri, Garba and other events are held with great pomp in Bhopal. It is worth noting that Hindu organizations and some political leaders have been raising questions about the participation of Muslim youth in Garba events in many parts of the country, including Madhya Pradesh. There have also been demands for identity card verification at the time of entry into the event.
