New Delhi/Visakhapatnam: Air connectivity between the national capital and Andhra Pradesh is set to improve as Akasa Air launches a daily non-stop service between Delhi and Visakhapatnam from October 25. The new route is expected to give passengers more travel options while supporting tourism, business activity and regional economic growth.

The announcement was made by GMR Visakhapatnam International Airport Limited. Akasa Air will become the third airline operating direct flights on the Delhi–Visakhapatnam route, increasing passenger capacity and potentially encouraging greater fare competition.

Daily Flight Schedule Announced

The airline has announced the following timings for its new service:

  • Flight QP 1842: Departs Delhi at 5:55 am and arrives in Visakhapatnam at 8:20 am.

  • Flight QP 1843: Departs Visakhapatnam at 9:05 am and arrives in Delhi at 11:30 am.

The daily schedule is expected to offer greater convenience to passengers travelling between the two cities for professional commitments, education, tourism and other purposes.

Airport Officials Highlight Improved Connectivity

Kanwarbir Singh Kalra, Chief Executive Officer of GMR Visakhapatnam International Airport Limited, described the new direct service as an important step towards strengthening air connectivity between Delhi and Visakhapatnam.

He said the additional flights would improve passenger convenience and support tourism, trade and regional development. Delhi serves as a major centre for government-related work, education, business and tourism, making the route important for a wide range of travellers.

How Will the New Service Benefit Passengers?

With another airline entering the route, travellers are expected to have more options when planning their journeys. The additional capacity could also improve seat availability and promote competition among airlines, while the direct service will help passengers avoid the need for connecting flights.

The new route is expected to strengthen the link between Andhra Pradesh and the national capital, benefiting both business and leisure travellers.
