New Delhi: The ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar regarding the NEET paper leak case has reached a highly sensitive juncture. Following the forced transfer of environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk to the hospital, Jantar Mantar has been turned into a fortress-like zone on this 21st day of the hunger strike. Meanwhile, the 'Cockroach Janata Party' (CJP)—which is spearheading the movement—has made a sensational claim on social media, sending political temperatures in Delhi soaring.
On Sunday, the 'Cockroach Janata Party' leveled serious allegations against the Delhi Police and the ruling party through a series of posts on its official X handle.
The CJP claimed that, according to their sources, "Around 30 to 40 goons linked to the BJP and Delhi Police have infiltrated our protest site. These individuals intend to disrupt the atmosphere today by making anti-India and inflammatory statements." The party has urged its activists to immediately expose these miscreants, noting that they have no connection whatsoever to the CJP or Sonam Wangchuk's movement.
To substantiate its claim, the CJP also shared a photograph from Jantar Mantar showing a security personnel member sitting right in front of the protesters, holding a tear-gas gun.
Meanwhile, Sonam Wangchuk—who has been admitted to Safdarjung Hospital—has sent a deeply emotional and firm message to the nation from there. This handwritten note, conveyed through his wife Gitanjali J. Angmo, has been shared on Wangchuk's social media account.
Wangchuk has termed the 'Parliament March' scheduled for July 20 (Monday) as India's "second freedom movement." In his note, he wrote, "July 20. India's second freedom movement. Freedom from injustice (such as paper leaks). Freedom from fear (my illegal detention). Parliament March. Please make this a huge success."
In this note, Wangchuk explicitly described his confinement in the hospital as 'illegal detention.' He clearly stated that he was picked up from Jantar Mantar and detained there against his will.
The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), which has been leading this movement since June 28, has announced a siege of Parliament for July 20. There are three key demands associated with this march:
Strict accountability must be ensured regarding the rigging and corruption in the country's competitive examinations.
Major and transparent reforms must be implemented across the nation's entire examination system.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan must immediately resign from his post, taking moral responsibility for the alleged paper leaks.
Following the rising tension at Jantar Mantar and this stern message from Safdarjung Hospital, major commotion is expected on the streets of Delhi tomorrow (Monday), as the police appear fully prepared to block the march.
