New Delhi: To streamline traffic and provide relief from congestion in the capital, Delhi Traffic Police and the local Residents' Welfare Association (RWA) jointly conducted a special drive in Mayur Vihar Phase-3. The initiative aimed to ensure compliance with traffic rules while raising awareness about road safety among motorists and local residents.
As part of the campaign, action was taken against those driving in the wrong direction or parking improperly near the Ruchika Petrol Pump. Such violations not only disrupt traffic flow but also increase the risk of accidents. This police action sought to instill road discipline and organize the movement of traffic.
In a separate initiative, measures were taken to improve traffic management on Pragati Marg near St Mary's School. Ensuring smooth vehicular movement around the school is crucial for the safety of students, parents, and local residents.
Conducted under the supervision of Shweta Chauhan, DCP (Traffic - Eastern Range), this special initiative involved Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amrik Singh Birdhi, Kalyanpuri Traffic Inspector Vinay Singh, three traffic zone officers, and four other police personnel. The collaboration with the local RWA helped foster public participation in the campaign. The DCP's message was clear: respecting rules is the hallmark of a safe journey. Continuous action by the traffic police and cooperation from citizens are essential to making Mayur Vihar Phase-3 free from traffic congestion.
