Fatal Fall from the 23rd Floor! Father and Son Die Tragically While Picking Flowers for Prayers

Greater Noida: Who could have imagined that a morning intended for worship and devotion would turn into the darkest day for a family? In a matter of moments, a father and his young son, who had stepped onto their balcony to gather flowers for prayers, met a fatal end. This heart-wrenching tragedy, which occurred on Friday morning at the Mahagun Mywoods Society in Greater Noida West, has left everyone shaken.

According to reports, the incident took place around 4:20 AM on Friday, October 30, at Tower 23 of the Mahagun Mywoods Society, located in the Gaur City-2 area under the Bisrakh police station’s jurisdiction. The victims have been identified as 40-year-old Randeep Patra and his 11-year-old son, Aarav Patra. Both sustained fatal injuries after falling from the 23rd-floor balcony.

Accident Occurred While Picking Flowers for Prayers

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Noida), Dr. Praveen Ranjan Singh, stated that the police received information in the morning that two individuals had fallen from a great height within the society. A police team arrived at the scene immediately, and both victims were rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared them dead.

According to the family, they were planning to visit the Khatu Shyam Temple early that morning. Additionally, they had scheduled the registration of a property. Before leaving home, Randeep had gone to the balcony with his son to pick flowers for their morning prayers. It is reported that one of them slipped, leading to both of them falling from the balcony. Some reports suggest that the father may have lost his balance while attempting to save his son. However, this can only be independently verified following a thorough investigation.

Police are investigating every aspect of the incident

A wave of grief swept through the residential society following the incident. The police have completed the inquest proceedings for both bodies and sent them for post-mortem examinations. Officials state that all possible circumstances and facets of the case are being examined. A single, fleeting moment has devastated an entire family, leaving behind memories that will never fade—and wounds that may never heal.
