New Delhi: As part of the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva 2026’ campaign, being conducted to further strengthen the vision of a clean and healthy India, officials and employees of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare participated in a cleanliness drive in the national capital on Thursday. Under the ‘One Day, One Hour, Together’ initiative, officials took part in a cleanliness campaign near Kartavya Bhavan-1 and encouraged people to adopt cleanliness as a shared responsibility.
The programme was led by Dr Rajiv Bahl, Secretary, Department of Health Research. He was joined by Additional Secretary Mrs Aradhana Patnaik, Additional Secretary Dr Rakesh Gupta, Director General of Health Services Dr Lovnish Krishna, along with other senior officials and employees of the ministry, who enthusiastically participated in the cleanliness drive.
As officials and employees gathered in the morning for the cleanliness campaign, the atmosphere reflected a strong collective commitment towards cleanliness. By contributing to the cleaning of public spaces, the officials conveyed the message that cleanliness is not merely a government initiative but a shared responsibility of every citizen.
During the programme, emphasis was placed on public participation as the greatest strength of cleanliness campaigns and on the importance of collective efforts. Officials said that clean public spaces are the foundation of a healthy society and that active participation from citizens, along with government efforts, is essential to preserve them.
Through the ‘One Day, One Hour, Together’ initiative, the Health Ministry also conveyed a message of maintaining a healthy and sustainable public environment alongside cleanliness. The cleanliness drive highlighted that when every section of society comes together and takes responsibility for cleanliness, such initiatives can develop into a people's movement.
