The Police Commissioner was accompanied by Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Zone-1, Devesh Chandra Srivastava; Joint Commissioner of Police, Eastern Range, Milind Mahadev Dumbre; Deputy Commissioner of Police, East District, Rajiv Kumar; Assistant Commissioner of Police, Preet Vihar; and the Station House Officers of Laxmi Nagar, Shakarpur and Preet Vihar police stations.
During the foot patrol, police officers closely assessed police visibility, preventive patrolling, lighting arrangements and other security measures in and around the park. Particular emphasis was placed on ensuring a safe environment for people visiting public places and maintaining a visible police presence to prevent any potential criminal activity at an early stage.
The Police Commissioner remained on the spot with officers and personnel to assess the effectiveness of police patrolling at public places such as parks and identify any gaps in the security arrangements. While reviewing aspects related to lighting, police deployment and preventive action, officers were instructed to maintain heightened vigilance.
The purpose of the foot patrol was not only to monitor security arrangements but also to strengthen the direct and reliable presence of the police among citizens. A visible police presence on the streets sends a clear message that there is no room for anyone to disrupt law and order in public places.
Following this, Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar inspected the Pink Booth at V3S Mall in Preet Vihar. He interacted with the police personnel deployed there and sought details about the functioning of the booth and the security arrangements.
The Police Commissioner particularly emphasised the need for an effective police presence, regular patrolling and prompt response to complaints related to women's safety. He directed the personnel to ensure that the Pink Booth remains not merely a symbol of police presence but also serves as an effective means of providing immediate assistance to women and other citizens whenever required.
During the inspection, emphasis was also placed on strengthening police activity in the area, preventive action and the system for providing a quick response at public places.
The Delhi Police's on-ground inspection sent a clear message that security arrangements in the capital are not limited to offices and meetings, with senior police officers themselves stepping into the field to assess the situation.
Visible policing in public places, regular patrolling and prompt action on complaints are being treated as important components of the security system. From the foot patrol at Ashita Park to the inspection of the Pink Booth, police officers assessed the arrangements on the ground and stressed the need for personnel to remain alert, proactive and sensitive while performing their duties.
The message was clear — the police will remain on the ground, keep a close watch on security arrangements and reach citizens promptly whenever required.
