New Delhi/Gaya: The excitement of Holi festival is almost over now. After this, there is now a race among people to return from their homes. Due to this, a huge crowd of passengers is being seen at Gaya Junction in Bihar. Due to people returning to work after celebrating the festival, long queues have formed on the station platforms and it has become difficult to get seats in many trains. The number of passengers is so high that at many places there is no space left to even step on the platform.

Why did the crowd of passengers increase?

A large number of migrant laborers and employed people return to their homes in Bihar to celebrate Holi. As soon as the festival is over, the same people catch trains to go back to Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and other states. Due to this reason, the crowd has suddenly increased at many major stations including Gaya Junction. Because of this, all the trains are coming full.

Why fight for seats in trains?

According to the passengers present at the station, there is a huge crowd in the general coaches of many express and passenger trains. In some trains, passengers are forced to travel standing. Especially the maximum crowd is being seen in trains going towards Delhi, Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana.

Are railways and security agencies alert?

In view of the huge crowd in trains, the railway administration and the RPF team are continuously maintaining the arrangements at the station. Additional staff have been deployed to ensure safe boarding of passengers onto platforms and coaches. At many places, efforts are being made to control the crowd through announcements and security arrangements.

Were special trains run for Holi?

In view of the increasing crowd during the festival, Indian Railways has also run a large number of Holi special trains across the country. Railways said that for the convenience of passengers, thousands of special train trips are being operated till March 18 so that the pressure on regular trains can be reduced. Railways is also making every effort to take the passengers to their destination.
