Ludhiana: A shocking murder has rattled parts of Ludhiana as police uncover the body of a man chopped into pieces and dumped in an open plot. The case has taken a chilling turn with early medical findings suggesting the victim was injected with a substance before being killed.

Who Was the Victim?

Police have identified the man as Davinder Kumar, a 35-year-old resident of Bharti Colony in Ludhiana. He was reported missing earlier this month after returning from Mumbai to the city on personal business.

How Was the Body Found?

On Thursday morning, locals spotted a plastic drum in a vacant plot near the Jalandhar Bypass. A strong stench drew attention, and when police opened the drum, they found grim evidence: Davinder's head and body parts inside, and one hand still missing. Remaining pieces were scattered nearby.

The accused allegedly dismembered the body using a saw and stuffed the parts inside a drum.

Was He Killed Before Being Dumped?

Doctors who examined the remains said the man was likely given an injection in his left hand before he died. The exact nature of the substance is still being analysed. Investigators believe this could mean the murder was planned, not spontaneous.

Who Are the Suspects?

Ludhiana police have arrested a man and his wife, both in their 30s, in connection with the killing on Friday. The accused man has been identified as Shamsher alias Shera, a carpenter by profession.

According to officials, Davinder and Shamsher were close friends, and a dispute over money is suspected to have led to the crime. They have been charged with murder and are now in custody as the probe deepens.

What Are Police Saying?

Senior officers said they are tracing Davinder’s movements in the days before he was killed. CCTV footage and witness statements are being reviewed to establish a clear timeline. Forensic teams are testing the injection substance and piece-by-piece recovery of evidence.
