The accused, identified as Sahil, a resident of Hisar, was apprehended by the 12 Quarters Police Post team as part of the district-wide crackdown on drug trafficking.

According to police, the seized contraband has an estimated market value of approximately ₹55,000. The operation was conducted under the directions of Hisar Superintendent of Police Siddhant Jain, who has instructed officers to take strict action against those involved in the illegal drug trade.

Suspect detained during checkpoint operation

Assistant Sub-Inspector Rakesh Kumar, in-charge of the 12 Quarters Police Post, said his team was conducting vehicle and personnel checks in the area when a young man’s movements appeared suspicious. The officers detained him and conducted a search in accordance with the prescribed procedure, leading to the alleged recovery of 10 grams and 770 milligrams of heroin, commonly known as chitta.

The police subsequently arrested Sahil and initiated further proceedings.

Case registered under the NDPS Act

A case has been registered against the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at HTM Police Station in Hisar. Investigators are questioning him about the alleged source of the drugs, their intended distribution and possible links to a wider supply network.

Police said the accused would be presented before a court and sought for custodial remand to facilitate further questioning.
