Indore, Madhya Pradesh: A massive fire broke out in a house in Brijeshwari Annex area early this morning in Madhya Pradesh's largest economic city Indore, shocking everyone. According to the police and fire brigade, the electric car parked outside the house was being charged when there was an explosion in the charging point and the flames quickly entered the house. This accident happened around 4 o'clock in the night, when most of the people were in deep sleep. The fire broke out so fast that within a few minutes the entire house was engulfed in flames.

Why did the fire become so terrible?

Investigation revealed that more than 10 gas cylinders were kept in the house. As soon as the fire broke out, several of the cylinders exploded, causing the explosion and flames to become more intense. The landlord did polymer business, hence flammable chemicals were also stored in the house. All these together worked to further inflame the fire. The roofs collapsed, the walls started falling, and the entire house was reduced to ashes within a short time.

How many people lost their lives and who survived?

In this tragic accident, 6 people present in the house were burnt alive – these included elders, women and children of the family. The relief team somehow pulled out three people and took them to the hospital, where their condition is said to be critical. By the time the fire brigade arrived, most of the house was burnt – a lot of effort had to be made for rescue.

Why did electronic lock become the cause of death?

A shocking thing came to light—electronic locks were installed in the house. Due to the fire, electricity went out, locks could not be opened, and people were left trapped in the rooms. Many people say that if there were old locks, perhaps some people would have gone out. This is now raising big questions – in the name of smart locks and security in homes, are we putting our lives at risk?

Whose house was this and what was revealed?

The house belonged to Manoj Puglia, who ran a polymer business. For this reason the house was full of chemicals and gas cylinders. Neighbors say that there was more storage for the business's goods, but less attention was paid to safety rules. Police are now looking into whether there was any negligence – there was a fault in the charging system or the storage was done incorrectly.

What is the status of relief and investigation?

As soon as the information was received at 4 in the morning, several fire tenders arrived, the fire was controlled and rescue began. Now the police are investigating the entire incident in depth – malfunction of the charging point, storage of cylinder chemicals, and whether any safety rules were broken. The administration has announced immediate help to the families of the deceased.
