Dussehra Reminds People to Overcome Inner Evils

Garg said Dussehra encourages people to follow the path of truth, Dharma and good conduct. He explained that the burning of Ravana is not merely a traditional ritual but also represents the need to eliminate personal shortcomings, ego, injustice and negative thinking.

He urged people to adopt Lord Ram’s ideals and strengthen brotherhood, love and mutual respect in society. According to him, the festival offers an opportunity for people to reflect on their actions and work towards becoming more responsible members of society.

How Do Religious Celebrations Preserve Cultural Values?

Garg said religious and social programmes play an important role in preserving India's cultural heritage and traditions. Such occasions also help connect younger generations with Indian values and traditions.

He emphasised that the message of Dussehra extends beyond the celebrations, encouraging people to promote harmony and uphold ethical values in their personal and social lives.

The programme organised by the Shri Ramleela Committee Katla highlighted the enduring relevance of Dussehra and its message of the triumph of good over evil.
