Hisar: Hisar Superintendent of Police Siddhant Jain, IPS, has directed officials and caregivers to strengthen support for people struggling with drug addiction through regular counselling, timely medication and continuous follow-up. He issued the instructions during a review meeting on the Narcotics Coordination Centre (NCORD) and the ongoing anti-drug campaign at his office on October 29.

The meeting was attended by the DSP Crime, members of the anti-drug team, personnel associated with sports and games, caregivers responsible for supporting affected individuals, and other concerned officials. The discussions focused on helping people overcome addiction, monitoring their treatment and encouraging them to rebuild their lives.

Caregivers Told to Ensure Regular Support and Monitoring

SP Jain sought feedback from caregivers about the condition and progress of the individuals under their supervision. He instructed them to remain in regular contact with each person, monitor their recovery and take their concerns seriously.

He emphasised that no one should feel isolated during the recovery process. Caregivers were asked to provide consistent encouragement and make every possible effort to address difficulties faced by those undergoing treatment.

Jain also directed caregivers to coordinate with doctors to ensure that prescribed medicines were provided on time. In cases where individuals could not afford medication, they were instructed to arrange medical counselling and explore the availability of Ayurvedic medicines through the anti-drug team.

Public Cooperation Also Important in Tackling Drug Trafficking

The SP said that treatment, counselling and positive guidance were essential to encouraging people to overcome addiction. He also asked caregivers to share credible information about drug suppliers and illegal drug-related activities with the police so that appropriate legal action could be taken.

He stressed that rehabilitation and action against drug trafficking must go hand in hand to make the campaign more effective.

Why Is Rehabilitation Central to the Anti-Drug Campaign?

Jain said people affected by addiction should not be viewed only as a problem or through the lens of crime. Instead, they need understanding, sustained support and opportunities to return to a healthier life.

He described helping someone overcome addiction, reconnect with their family and rejoin mainstream society as a deeply meaningful social service. Such efforts, he noted, can improve not only an individual's future but also the well-being of their entire family.

Hisar Police Emphasise Joint Efforts for Recovery

Jain said the success of the anti-drug campaign depended on coordination among the police, health department, caregivers, families and other responsible members of society. He urged all stakeholders to treat people affected by addiction with dignity and continually encourage them to pursue treatment and a positive lifestyle.

Hisar Police reiterated their commitment to combating illegal drug trafficking while also helping affected individuals access treatment, guidance and support to rebuild their lives with health and dignity.
