Mathura: Storyteller Aniruddhacharya Maharaj's legal troubles have increased due to his controversial statement regarding women's age and marriage. The Mathura CJM court has ordered the filing of a complaint against him.
The court will now conduct an investigation into the matter. It is reported that about four months ago, Aniruddhacharya Maharaj made a statement regarding women's marriageable age in a sermon that has been accused of hurting the dignity of women.
Meera Rathore, District President of the All India Hindu Mahasabha in Agra, filed a petition in the Mathura CJM court regarding this statement. She stated that in July 2025, while visiting Banke Bihari Ji, she heard Aniruddhacharya Maharaj's statement on her mobile phone, in which he said, "These days, girls get married at the age of 25, and by that time, they've already been married." Meera Rathore called this an insult to women and demanded a case be filed.
The complaint was initially filed at the Vrindavan Kotwali police station, but the police did not file a case. The complainant then approached the court directly. The court heard the petition and, finding the allegations prima facie serious, directed the filing of a complaint against the narrator.
The court has scheduled the next hearing for January 1st, 2026. The petitioner's statement will be recorded on this date. The filing of the complaint is expected to increase Aniruddhacharya Maharaj's legal troubles.
This case will now proceed directly under court supervision, which could pose a significant legal challenge for the narrator in the future.
