Hathras: A private pathology lab operator in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh has been accused of allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl. Based on the complaint of the victim, the police have registered the case and started investigation. Medical examination of the girl has been done, while the police are busy collecting all the facts and evidence related to the incident. Officials say that the case is being investigated impartially and further action will be taken on the basis of medical report and other evidence.
In the complaint given to the police, the girl stated that she had reached a private clinic on July 13 to take medicines. It is alleged that in the name of treating her, she was given a drip, after which she became unconscious. The victim says that when she regained consciousness she found herself without clothes. After this she realised what was wrong with her and told the entire incident to her family. After receiving the complaint, the family approached the police and demanded legal action. In the available complaint, there has also been an allegation of giving anesthesia, which can be confirmed only after investigation.
After the complaint was registered, the police started preliminary investigation. Investigation revealed that the person accused is the operator of the concerned pathology lab. After this, the police registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) and POCSO Act. Officials say that the role of the accused, the place of incident and other people present there are also being interrogated so that the links of the entire incident can be clarified.
The police sent the victim to the District Women's Hospital and got her medical examination done. Along with this, necessary forensic evidence is also being collected. Investigating agencies believe that the medical report, evidence found at the scene and statements of witnesses will play an important role in this case. If the investigation finds evidence related to the allegation of administering anesthetic, then it will also be made a part of the case diary. At present, instead of reaching any conclusion, the police are investigating all the aspects scientifically.
Hathras Junction police station in-charge Lalit Kumar Sharma said that a case has been registered on the basis of the complaint of the victim. He said that medical examination has been conducted and investigation is ongoing. Police say that further legal action will be taken on the basis of whatever facts emerge in the investigation. Officials are also clarifying that the allegations are currently under investigation and it is too early to reach any conclusion.
The investigation team will now examine the staff present at the clinic, records, CCTV footage (if available), medical documents and other technical evidence. The police are also trying to find out who was present in the clinic at the time of the incident and what evidence can confirm the victim's allegations. In this case, the side of the accused will also be a part of the investigation process. At present this is an allegation based case and the final situation will be clear only after the police investigation and court process are completed.
