Muzaffarnagar: Residents planning to visit Muzaffarnagar’s markets for Diwali shopping should check the revised traffic arrangements before setting out. The traffic police has introduced a special diversion plan to manage the expected festive rush and prevent congestion in busy market areas.

The restrictions will remain in force from November 5 to 11, between 8 am and 10 pm every day. E-rickshaws and four-wheelers will not be allowed on several roads leading towards Shiv Chowk.

Which Routes Will Be Affected?

Vehicles travelling from Malviya Chowk towards Shiv Chowk will be diverted via the Fire Station opposite Church Road, Moolchand Sweets and Aloo Mandi before proceeding towards Meenakshi Chowk. E-rickshaws will be permitted only up to the Fire Station on this route.

E-rickshaws will be completely prohibited from travelling towards Shiv Chowk from the Nagar Palika Parishad gate. Similar restrictions will apply to e-rickshaws approaching Shiv Chowk from Meenakshi Chowk, Loha Mandi cut and Novelty Chowk.

Vehicles coming from Hanuman Chowk will not be allowed to enter Bhagat Singh Road towards Shiv Chowk if they are four-wheelers or e-rickshaws. E-rickshaws arriving from Prakash Chowk will be allowed to travel only up to the Fire Service Station.

One-Way Traffic on Church Road

A one-way traffic arrangement will also be enforced on Church Road. Vehicles will move from the District Council Market towards the Fire Station, Jhansi Ki Rani and then the Nagar Palika.

The traffic police has appealed to residents and shoppers to follow the designated routes and park their vehicles responsibly. Officials have urged commuters to avoid obstructing roads so that traffic movement remains smooth during the festive shopping period.
