Uttar Pradesh: The popular conversion case in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh has taken a new turn. A video of Ayush Malik, son of medical businessman Devraj Malik, is going viral on social media, in which he is seen performing puja as per Hindu customs. After the video surfaced, the family claimed that Ayush has voluntarily adopted Sanatan Dharma. However, this viral video has not been independently confirmed and the investigation into the entire matter is still going on.
This matter came into limelight in the beginning of June, when Swami Yashveer Maharaj, associated with Yoga Sadhana Center, alleged that Ayush Malik was converted on the pretext of love affair. After this, Ayush's father Devraj Malik lodged a complaint with the police and alleged that his son was forced to convert as part of a conspiracy and a fake marriage certificate was also prepared.
In the video viral on social media, Ayush Malik is seen worshipping in the temple of his home and taking blessings of his family members. In the video, he is reportedly seen saying that he has decided to embrace his original religion again. At the same time, Swami Yashveer Maharaj has also shared this video and called it "homecoming". However, the authenticity of the video has not been officially confirmed.
Ayush's father Devraj Malik said that his son has decided to adopt the Sanatan Vedic tradition out of respect for family, traditions and religious rites. He also expressed his gratitude to all the people who cooperated in this process.
The police have taken action against the accused named in this case. The main accused Chandni Qureshi; her father Islam Qureshi and another accused have been arrested and sent to jail. Police are also busy searching for other named people and investigation into the case is ongoing.
Bail petitions have been filed in the court on behalf of the arrested accused. It is being said that hearing on these petitions is scheduled. On the other hand, other accused related to the case have also moved the court for anticipatory bail. Further action will be decided based on the court decision and police investigation.
